Saint Andrew’s es un colegio pequeño que funciona como una gran familia, y procuramos seguir manteniéndonos así.
Estas son nuestras razones:
- Conocemos realmente a nuestros alumnos, y ellos se sienten cercanos a nosotros. Esto significa que podemos ajustar individualmente su aprendizaje y cuidados en general. Esto sería una tarea mucho más compleja en un colegio de mayores dimensiones.
- Cada niño/ niña es diferente y cada niño/ niña destaca en algo. Al tener grupos pequaños, podemos disfrutar y potenciar este hecho y permitir que enriquezca la experiencia de aprendizaje para todos.
- Los niños se sienten más capaces de ser “quienes son” y expresarse mejor en un entorno reducido. Cuando los alumnos dejan Saint Andrew’s llevan consigo alta autoestima y habilidades sociales.
- Tenemos que llevarnos bien entre todos. No hay espacio para grupos cerrados entre el número de alumnos que tenemos.
- Mantener un número pequeño implica mantener la excelencia en su educación. Podemos elegir el mejor personal, los recursos más apropiados y podemos observar y evaluar los resultados de cerca.
Nuestros planes de futuro no incluyen crecer en número. Sin embargo, sí que aspiramos a seguir buscando formas de crecer como educadores y ayudar a cada uno de nuestros alumnos a conseguir la grandeza de forma especial y personal.
Saint Andrew’s School: where small is the big thing!
Saint Andrew’s is a small school which runs like a big family and we aim to stay that way!
Here’s why:
- We really know our pupils, and they feel close to us. This means we can individually tailor their learning and their overall care. This would be much more difficult in a larger school.
- Every child is different and every child excels at something. In small classes we can enjoy and embrace this fact and allow it to enrich the learning experience for everyone.
- Children feel more able to be ‘who they are’ and to express themselves in a smaller environment. When pupils leave Saint Andrew’s they take high self-esteem and social confidence with them.
- We have to get on well with each other. There is no room for cliques among small student numbers!
- Staying small means maintaining excellence in education. We can select the best staff, the most appropriate resources and we can closely observe and evaluate learning outcomes.
Our plans for the future do not include growing in size. We do, however, aim to keep looking at ways of growing as educators and helping each of our pupils achieve greatness in their own special way!
