At Saint Andrew’s International British School Tenerife, we believe that the memories children make during their school years stay with them for life. Recently, we asked some of our former students what they enjoyed most about their time at Saint Andrew’s and what they remember when they look back on their school days. Their responses reminded us of what makes our school such a special place.
School Productions and Performances
Many former pupils fondly remembered taking part in our school productions and performances. The excitement of rehearsals, working together with classmates, and performing in front of family and friends created memories that have lasted long after they left.
Assemblies and Patio Activities
Others spoke about our assemblies, not only for the learning and celebrations they shared, but also for the fun games and activities that often followed on the patio.
A Nurturing and Supportive Environment
One of the most heartwarming comments was from a student who said that whenever they felt unwell or unhappy, there was always someone ready to help and care for them. Creating a supportive and nurturing environment has always been at the heart of our school community.
Engaging Lessons and Creative Expression
Several students reflected on their lessons. One former pupil remembered enjoying mathematics and even commented that the way maths was taught at Saint Andrew’s challenged them more than their current secondary school. Others spoke about their art lessons, where they created work they were proud of, and their enjoyment of writing poetry and expressing their creativity.
Physical Education and Sports
Physical education also featured strongly in their memories, with students recalling the excitement of attending lessons at the sports centre and taking part in a variety of sporting activities.
